About this policy
This policy explains how Fairday (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Fairday weather app and website. Contact support@fairday.si for questions or privacy requests.
One-time availability requests — added October 7, 2026
If you join the website waitlist, we collect your name and email address to fulfil your request: “By joining, you’re asking Fairday to email you once when the app is available.” We record the request time, the wording and notice version, your agreement to the terms, and acknowledgement of this policy. This does not create an app account or subscribe you to a newsletter, early-access campaign or ongoing promotions. We do not sell the signup list or use it for advertising.
Our hosting database stores these records privately. Resend sends a signup notification containing your details to support@fairday.si, which forwards to our support Gmail inbox, and may deliver the requested availability email. These providers may process the information outside your country. To prevent abuse, we temporarily store a salted, hashed network-address bucket and request count, not your raw IP address in the signup database; hosting providers may separately keep technical logs.
We keep your request while awaiting availability and as needed to fulfil it, prevent duplicate emails and handle support or legal obligations. Contact support@fairday.si to cancel your request or ask us to delete your details from the signup database and support records. Cancellation does not require an app account. You can also request correction. We may verify ownership before acting. A signup notification to our inbox is not an email to you; we will not send ongoing promotional messages based on this request.
Accounts and sign-in
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a provider account identifier and the account details made available for sign-in, such as your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email. Supabase processes authentication and associates saved settings with your account. Login sessions are stored in the device Keychain. We do not receive your Apple or Google password or request access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or Drive files. Demo sign-in, where available, is a local preview and does not create a real provider account.
Saved cities and preferences
Fairday stores saved cities and their coordinates, comfort settings, units, appearance choices and other app preferences on your device. Account preferences may sync through Supabase when saved while signed in. Optional gender information tailors clothing wording, not your feels-like temperature, and is not included in weather-provider requests. You can choose Prefer not to say and change this choice in preferences.
Device location and weather requests
If you choose Find my location and grant permission, Fairday obtains a device location to identify your city and request local weather. You can search manually instead. The app does not continuously track your location in the background. Open-Meteo receives city search queries or coordinates to provide geocoding, forecasts and air quality. Apple provides location services, geocoding and maps where used; RainViewer supplies radar data for requested areas and times. Providers receive network request information, including IP addresses and request details. Coverage and availability vary.
Plans and recommendations
Text entered in Plans is interpreted on your device to select a forecast window and clothing advice. It is not sent to a cloud language model. Weather requests for the selected place still go to weather providers. Avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed for a recommendation.
Weather alerts and push notifications
If you enable weather alerts while signed in, the backend stores your alert preferences and selected places, an installation identifier, an Apple push device token and its environment, and registration timestamps. It uses these details to check forecasts and deliver the alerts you select through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Delivery records and timestamps help prevent duplicate or excessive alerts and diagnose delivery failures. Apple processes push requests and notification contents. Notifications may include a city name and weather information, and may be visible on your lock screen depending on your iOS settings. You can turn alerts off in Fairday or change notification permission and previews in iOS Settings. Device registration is associated with the signed-in account; signing out does not delete all account records.
Support and service providers
If you contact support@fairday.si, we receive your message and contact details. Messages sent to this address are forwarded to our support Gmail inbox. Resend delivers transactional account emails. Supabase provides authentication, account storage and backend services; Apple and Google provide sign-in; Open-Meteo and RainViewer supply weather and radar services; Apple also supplies maps and push delivery. OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure host this informational website. Providers may process IP addresses, request details and operational logs to deliver and secure their services. Information may be processed outside your country under the providers’ applicable privacy policies. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, security or legal rights.
Google user information
We use Google sign-in information only to provide and maintain your Fairday account and the features described here. We do not sell that information, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
Local preferences remain on your device until removed or reset. Signing out does not by itself delete your account or all local preferences; Keychain records may persist separately. Account information and saved settings are retained to provide your account until removed or you request deletion, subject to necessary security, legal and backup retention. Push registration and delivery records are used for alert delivery, deduplication and troubleshooting; outdated or invalid registrations may be excluded or removed. Providers may retain operational records under their own retention policies. Signing out or uninstalling does not immediately remove all provider or backup records.
Your choices and requests
You can edit saved cities and preferences, decline optional gender information, revoke location or notification permission in iOS Settings, and manage Fairday access in your Apple or Google account. To delete your Fairday account, open Your account and choose Delete account. After confirmation, this removes your account, saved cities, preferences and weather-alert registrations and delivery records. For an Apple-linked account, you must confirm your linked Apple account so we can revoke its Fairday authorization. Necessary security, legal and backup retention may still apply. For access, correction, historical analytics deletion or help with account deletion, email support@fairday.si. We may verify account ownership before acting. The rights available to you depend on applicable law.
App analytics, website privacy and security
When usage sharing is enabled and analytics is configured, Fairday uses PostHog to understand app opens, onboarding progress, sign-in outcomes, screen visits, city adding or switching, hour selections, plan generation, comfort feedback, alert preferences and notification opens. Analytics includes a randomly generated device identifier or a pseudonymous account identifier, timestamps, app/device information and network request information such as an IP address. We do not include names, email addresses, city names or coordinates, plan text, passwords, sign-in tokens or push device tokens in these analytics events. We disable location enrichment, screen recording and automatic interaction capture. Internal testing accounts are excluded once recognised; actions before sign-in may be anonymous. You can turn off Share usage analytics in Your account; this stops future collection but does not automatically erase events already received. Contact support@fairday.si about deletion requests. PostHog processes analytics under its privacy policy and configured retention settings. We use analytics to improve Fairday, not for advertising. We have not added a dedicated analytics service to this website. Hosting and other providers may use technical logs or necessary security technologies. We use HTTPS and platform security controls, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Fairday is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and address it.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
Official severe weather alerts
For a city saved to your signed-in account, Fairday’s backend sends the city’s coordinates to Apple WeatherKit to check for official weather alerts. It caches alert information and uses delivery records to avoid duplicate notifications. Opening View details loads the official alert page from Apple in a web view; Apple receives the network request information needed to serve that page. Official alerts apply to areas and time windows and may not describe conditions at your exact location. We do not send your name, email, comfort preferences or Plans text to WeatherKit.
